What to Expect on the Day of Your Surgery in Thailand

Your surgery day is a significant step in your transformation journey, and we’re here to ensure it goes as smoothly as possible. From the moment you arrive at the hospital, you’ll be guided through each step, from pre-op preparations to post-op recovery.

Hotel Pick-Up and Transportation to the Hospital

  • Scheduled Pick-Up: On the day of your surgery, a driver will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning to ensure you arrive at the hospital with plenty of time before your scheduled procedure. This service is typically included in your surgery package.

  • Comfortable Transport: The transportation provided is designed to be comfortable, making the journey to the hospital smooth and worry-free.

Arrival at the Hospital

  • Reception and Registration: Upon arrival, you will check in at the reception, where staff will assist you with the registration process. This includes verifying your identity, reviewing your medical records, and signing any necessary consent forms. Payment in full is required before your surgery and is paid directly to the hospital.

  • Pre-Surgery Prep: Nurses will guide you to a pre-operative area where you will change into a surgical gown and undergo pre-surgery preparations. This may involve starting an IV line and receiving any required pre-operative medications.

Consultation with Medical Team

  • Surgeon Meeting: You will have a brief meeting with your surgeon to go over the surgical plan, address any final questions, and reconfirm the details of the procedure. The anesthetist will also meet with you to explain the anesthesia process and ensure you are ready for surgery.

The Surgical Procedure

  • Operating Room: You will be taken to the operating room where the surgical team is prepared for your procedure. The anesthetist will administer anesthesia to keep you comfortable and pain-free throughout the surgery.

  • Duration: The length of the surgery depends on the complexity of the procedure. Throughout the surgery, your vital signs will be closely monitored to ensure your safety.

Stay in the Hospital

  • Private Room: Once stable, you will be moved to a private room equipped with modern amenities to ensure your comfort, such as a private bathroom, television, and Wi-Fi.

  • Nursing Care: Nurses will provide continuous care, including managing pain, caring for wounds, and assisting with mobility as needed. They will also monitor for any signs of complications and ensure you are recovering well.

  • Diet and Hydration: You may start with clear fluids, gradually transitioning to a light diet as tolerated. Ensuring you remain hydrated and comfortable is a priority for the nursing staff.

Discharge Planning

  • Post-Operative Instructions: Before discharge, your surgeon will discuss detailed post-operative care instructions with you, including medications, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments.

  • Transportation Back to Hotel: Once the surgeon has discharged you, you will receive your prescribed medications and a 24/7 contact number for any assistance you may need. Your care consultant will transport you back to your hotel where they will help you settle into your room.
